Attention: All Flatironers with curly hair I need help?

Okay so I finally found a decent flatiron not a Chi but it gets my hair straight in under an hour before I made the hundred and something dollar commitment I wanted to see how often I would actually use it so I bought a Remington wet 2 straight and it works pretty good for the 30 dollars it cost. It looks really straight silky and pretty at first but then as time goes by the waves and curls creep back here is my routine let me know whats missing I need something to keep my hair straight.1.wash and condition with biolage ultra hydrating shampoo and conditioner 2.loreal hot n straight to cut down on drying time and biosilk glazing gel to reduce frizz(I thought that this would help it stay straight 3.separate hair into four sections then flat iron protector spray then flat iron each section 4. silk drops to tame frizz and add shine It looks really pretty at first but it quickly waves then curls up so what's missing?Attention: All Flatironers with curly hair I need help?
Most likely what is happening is your flat iron doesn't get hot enough to seal the hair to keep it smooth. You are using all the right products, it's probably just your flat iron. This happened to me with the Hot Tools Flat Iron. $30 bucks was a good deal, but it only keeps it smooth and nice for a little while before the frizz and fluff and curls would come back...Attention: All Flatironers with curly hair I need help?
u have to wash ur hair with any shampoo and conditioner. then blow dry it completely dry. then put kara-care hair lotion then straiten it . it should last 5 to 7 days

Is your hair curling up in areas where you sweat (like the nape of your neck)? You may need to do touch ups during the day. Or, you may need to consider having your hair relaxed a bit to get continuous smooth look. Also, try sleeping with a satin pillow or pillowcase. This is a known trick for waking up without bedhead, and avoiding wrinkles; the satin allows your hair and skin to move freely rather than get stretched and pulled during the night. Otherwise, you may need to upgrade to a Chi or Hai flat iron- my $30 flat iron worked great for a few months, but then not so much. I eventually decided to get a HAI, and it works much better.

For hair products, I always recommend Kiehl's silk groom or Aveda Hang Straight creme.
There is nothing wrong with what you are useing maybe you should ask you stylist/hair dresser for help but i have the same straightener and i also have to use my other one!!!! but i dont know!!! If you dont already try to blow dry it!!!! and amybe get another one to see if it is just the strightener!!!
Your hair may just be too curly to stay straight. If I were you, I would concentrate on eliminating the frizz and making your curls fabulous. The number 1 reason why curly haired people want straight hair is because they have a cut and styling technique not right for curly hair, and they think that the reason their hair looks bad is because of the curls. If you get the right technique and cut to make your curls outstanding, trust me, you will love them.

  • How can I deal with my hair?

Help! I have really thick hair, and it's curly, but not the cute curls. When I leave it natural, it frizzes like crazy. If I try the cream thats supposed to help curls, it makes it worse. I've used so many products to help curly hair but none of them made a difference. Also, hair straightening/defrizzing products don't help either. I'm worried I might damage my hair if I straighten it too much, and it's also a pain to straighten. It takes me an hour to straighten my hair, and I have a chi.

I've had it relaxed and it worked pretty well, but I don't have the money to do it again.

Can anyone tell me how I can get my hair to look acceptable (either curly or straight, it doesn't matter) without using heat products or spending a ton of money? How can I deal with my hair?
hmm....i have a similar predicament. not sure how to get away from the heat products, but this is what i do to limit damage and save time:

    1. wash your hair REALLY GOOD at night and let it air dry. that way when you get up it will be dry without having to blow dry and you can get right to flat-ironing which is WAY FASTER than blow drying if you hair is already dry.

    2. by this product to put in your hair before flat ironing: ';got2be crazy sleek';. it is phenomenal.

    3. don't put anything else in your hair after flat ironing. wear it down, and then don't wash it so you can keep the hair the next day. if it's a little oily the next day put it up or do a half-pony. usually i can wear it down two days in a row if i don't touch it too much or it's not too hot out.

my hair is really very thick, this is the system i use during the week because it only takes me about a half-hour every other morning to style. i've never had success with the ';natural look'; although lord knows i've tried...

    HAIR HELP????? PLEASE.?

okay i have hair thats about a inch past my shoulders and have a lot of layers. I normally straiten my hair but i love to curl it. In the past i curled it with my sraitener (CHI) but it doesnt really look good. How do i make my hair really curly with like small curls and not really wide ones. Please help. (: Thanks, you rock.HAIR HELP????? PLEASE.?
I've learned that to curl with small rollers you need to have

1 plenty of them to cover all over the parts of your hair that you want curly

2 hair pins to attach your hair to the rollers

If you have this then once you've rolled your hair sit under a dryer for about 30 mins. After that if you need to sleep in them.

    hope this helps! bye

Curly, to straight, to frizz in 6 minutes?

ok, to describe my hair, i have this Hermione hair/ irish curl hair/ fizz frizz frizz hair.(im mixed so its not one set type)

i hate it, so i straighten it with my CHI, but the slightest physical activity or (and ive timed it) 6 minutes of being alive, and my roots will either get sweaty or oily, causing the roots to frizz back. then it looks horrible, so i just put my hair in a pony tail all the time.

how can i stop this? any good products? (ive tried alot, i hate alot of them becuase they not only smell bad once the flat iron hits the product, but it makes the hair stiff, i hate that)Curly, to straight, to frizz in 6 minutes?

    Hairstyles??

I have kinda thick %26amp; curly hair. I straighten it most of the time but if i 'scrunch' it with gel, it gets frizzy later in the day.I have a CHI straightener and it straightens really well. It says you can also curl your hair with it but i dont know how to do that. I tried to use a curling iron but it didn't work very well. I want to try to get soft curls kinda like the red-haired model on the American Eagle website. Does anybody know how to do that or something like that thats easy and quick? Also does anyone know how to do curls with a CHI straightener?Hairstyles??
first you need to take a shower and brush your hair wait till your hair dries but make sure you don't put any products in your hair, then you take your curling iron and just simply curl you can even get soft curls because you brushed your hair. now to curl your hair with a straitening iron is very simple just reapete what i just said except use a straitening iron. except your straightener has to have round edges. then take the (small) piece of hair put it in the straightener and curl your hair wile twisting it three times on the outside and that will get you three loops so now you have curly SMOOTH hair!!Good luck.Hairstyles??
Continue to use gel but also use a HAIR DIFFUSER - best invention for curly hair. Easy and quick. Enjoy your new style!
I have thick wavy hair and i use john frieda frizz ease spray and my hair is never gets very frizzy. also i have heard that using a towel to dry your hair makes it frizzy so i usually let it just air dry. brush it whens its wet because when its dry and you brush it it tends to get messer. hope this helped.

    This works for me...

If your straightener is small enough, wrap your hair around it to create curls, or do this with your curlers lightly. Afterwards, lightly run your fingers through your hair and brush a little bit if you must. It works everytime.

I reccommend you put something on your hair to protect it from the heat....Morracan (spelling?) Oil is the best. It adds shine and health to your hair and protects it from the heat. How to get hair wavy/ loose curls??
Well my hair is already a little wavy, but I get my hair to look JUST like the first pic, actually its like that right now, all I do is when I get out of the shower (you can spray some holding stuff if you have any but you dont have to have it) and ';scrunch'; your hair, starting at the bottom of your hair push it up and just keep doing that all over for a few minutes then let it dry
    Hi, Meghan.

I'll try to help you out here.

Use your straightener and turn it on your hair 360 degress, you can go on youtube.com and type in ';how to curl hair with straightner''.

You can also try wetting your hair with water and put the curlers in your hair and blowdry it and go to sleep with them on.
There are a couple good easy ways to get your hair like this

1 is a curling iron which is an easy fast way to curl hair.

2 is when wet twirl your hair into ringlets then pin them up to your head, sleep with them over night. This will hurt though

3 soft curlers, these are like the pins except you will more likely get waves more than curls but use these and hairspray them, sleep with them over night.

    hope these help
I have really straight hair that's really hard to curl. What I normally do, is get it wet, then braid it (as many braids as you can get is best.... two french braids are good too) and sleep on it. In the morning, un-braid it, and it'll be wavy.

    Good luck!
What I do when I want wavy hair is that I braid my hair at night when its damp and i go to sleep with it in and in the morning my hair is wavy.
Well, do you have any hair sprays, gels, mousses? Cause you can't do much, since it's not gonna hold.

  • I have a Flat Iron, I try to create waves, and only HALF successful!?

So, I use a Chi flat iron. I don't like the thing despite the many raving reviews people give it. 1. it fails at keeping hair straight all day 2. pulls my hair 3. seems hard for me to create waves.

Yesterday I washed my hair. I used a deep conditioner from Avon called planet spa. After that I towel dried my hair. I have very thick, long, wavy, dark brown hair. The thing is, I love my wavy hair when it is done drying! BUT it's frizzy, and when I brush it the waves are suddenly gone and barely wavy. So I decided to look on youtube or google how to get waves with a chi flat iron. I tried EVERYTHING. I clamped the flat iron on a section of hair, rotated it 180, pulled it down, and....STRAIGHT HAIR. It WASN'T like it was in the youtube video! ??? so where did I go wrong? Also, I tried to wrap my hair around the plates and then pull down as shown in another video...the flat iron didn't glide down like the video showed, it was actually STUCK. It wouldn't budge it was wrapped around so much! I don't live with my mother, so I never knew how to keep hair looking good in humidity or how to straighten or curl hair at all. So I really need this information or some advice on how to make my hair better and actually be able to create waves without my hair being stuck or doing the opposite and straightening. Or, maybe an answer on how to keep the waves when my hair is done drying?I have a Flat Iron, I try to create waves, and only HALF successful!?
when you get out of the shower, scrunch a mousse for wavy hair (garnier makes a great one!) into you hair and let it dry. it will be wavy but the frizz should be gone.

Just keep your hair healthy and don't wash it everyday.

Drink 8 glasses of water wach day and eat healthy foods.

It is aslo a myth(?) that braiding your hair will make it longer.

I am not sure if this is true but if you do it, make sure you don't braid your hair when it is wet because then you will lose hair.(from pulling the hair)

-Eliminate or cut back on smoking, caffeine and carbonated sodas.

    -Eat a healthy diet.

-Avoid use of hot water, hot blow dryers or other hair care tools that may stress the hair.

-Have a weekly scalp massage to provide stimulation to the hair follicles.

-Do a series of ongoing hot oil treatments to protect the hair's shaft.

-Have regular trims to eliminate split ends and allow the hair to look and feel healthier.

-Get plenty of rest and sleep to allow your body to grow hair.Hair???? help (10 points - or thumbs up )?
dont wash it everyday, dont straighten it a lot, or blow it out, try wearing it natural or scrunching it, drink lots of water and vitamins.
Everyones hair is different. Kim also has stylists that do her hair. Hair is dead. But not at the root. Brush or massage your scalp to stimulate the natural oils. My hair grows very fast. I drink lots of water and I take vitamins especially Omega 3. Also found in fish.
the first person's answer was really good advice, but just to add on, there are vitamins you can take to make it grow faster. alternatively, there are always extensions

also any suggeston on how to straighten it? Im a college cheerleader and the coach says its more uniform for my hair to be like everyone elses at games! I have had 4 girls with 4 chi irons come over and straighten it.... it took near 2 hours. ANY suggestions?Thick,Long, naturally curly hair...HELP ME!?
Product is HUGE for you. You have to ';hit'; on the right combination for you. I have a couple suggestions that might work for you. Over the years I've had many clients with your type of hair, and yes, they ALL had a terrible time until they got the right combo and then the secret is to use enough product to work! Most people make the mistake of not using enough product in the hair to get the desired results. You HAVE to saturate the hair scalp to ends with a Leave-In Conditioner and then go over the top of it with a Defining Gel.

Two of my favorite lines that really help are:

    1) Nioxin Smoothing Reflectives They have an entire part of their line that is for course/wavy/unruly hair. Silk Elixir is the Leave In, then go over the top with either Pure Shine Gel Or the Smoothing Gel (that one is pretty firm) I've had many clients that like that combination. The shampoo and conditioner that go with that does wonders to the feel of course/wavy/unruly hair. Makes it feel soft.

    2) Aquage Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner or Hydrating Shampoo and Balm makes the hair soft and moisturized. Aquage Defining Gel is awesome for natural curl. Holds the curls together without feeling stiff and crunchy when dried. There is also a Smoothing Ultra Gel and a Defining Creme.

Both these product lines could give your hair a ';silker'; feel, but I'd definitely use the shampoo and conditioner that goes with it to get the full effect, it will make a huge difference other than trying to only use the styling products. For your hair type, MOISTURE is big too. You have to keep your hair properly moisturized. These two lines will help you do that, you just have to pick!

You MIGHT could try having a skilled stylist relax the front of your hair just a bit, enough to soften the curl so it might match a little closer to the back. I wouldn't try relaxing it all straight. Your hair will look better if you can embrace your curls and work with them instead of fighting them.

Good luck! I feel your pain! ;)Thick,Long, naturally curly hair...HELP ME!?
Tell you cheer coach too bad. Trying to tame curly hair is like trying to make a black person look white. Not going to happen. We had a standard hair style we all had to have....a ponytail in the middle of the head.

All the chemicals, and appliances are going to make your hair look like straw...how is that ';uniform';.
u can do a japanese straightening perm. however if your natural hair is really curly, tat probably wont last long. wat i suggest is for you to straighten only your bangs and leave the curls at the back, get your stylist to 'thin' your hair so that it wont be so puffy. after washing your hair, run some volume cream into it, twist your hair with your fingers and let it air dry. then spray silicone gloss. almost any brand out there has these. asian girls would kill for your hair since wavy hair is really big right now.
to make your hair less frizzy and a better looking curly, usse redken frizz free product. as soon as you get out of the shower squeeze out of bottle and run through your hair evenly. then, blow dry your hair and use a diffuser, for 15-20 minutes.

to get your hair straight. brush wet hair as soon as you get out of the shower and bow dry it while brushing it straight. blow dry in small portions.
To straighten your hair - while your hair is still wet, apply thermasilk straightening cream to your hair. Then, blowdry it until it's completely dry. Then take a very hot ceramic hair straightener and straighten it. This is how I do my cousin's hair that's VERY long and VERY curly.
I think you should be proud of your hair, I know lots of girls with boring plain straight hair who wish they had curly hair like yours. Its pretty cool to be different, you'll get noticed! Don't fight with it, use a gel or mouse right after the shower, twist small sections and let it air dry. Don't touch it or wear a hat after the twisting.
I have really curly, thick hair also! I've always wanted straight hair and finally have a style where I can go straight or super curly. I recommend getting your hair chemically straightened and have it cut/thinned...Aveda makes a nice, calm chemical straightener that wont' jack your hair up. Now, it won't make you straight, but it'll calm you down.

Next, use a good shampoo and conditioner to hydrate. I use Aveda's Brilliant Line. For styling (straight or curly) I swear by the Frederic Fekkai Olive Oil Glossing Creme (you can get this @ Sephora.com or at Victoria's Secret now).

If I'm going curly, I'll use an alcohol free gel, Brilliant from Aveda, and then to finish, Aveda's Brilliant Serum.

If I'm going straight, I'll blow dry my hair while brushing it downwards and then go over it with the straight iron, then, I finish with the Brilliant Serum. It takes me a little while to get through it, but it's worth it. All of these products go a long way because of the high quality, natural ingredients. I think getting your hair thinned out will make a world of difference, and you don't have to compromise with the length. You could also opt to have a pretty expensive and lengthy hair straightening process done, it's a Chinese process. Not sure of the technical name.

Why do girls/women with nice wavy hair flat-iron or straighten it like a religion?

Before the 20th century, women in Europe and America w/ wavy ginger hair were considered the most beautiful. Even the great Galileo wrote medical treatise on how the women of Europe could have grit for whitening the teeth and a recipe for auburn hair.

Nowadays, even extremely sound-minded women clutch their Chi ceramic irons to their bosoms like a holy mandate.

I have two friends w/ long luscious chestnut hair. They both flat iron their hair like their lives depends upon it. They have both been doing this since jr high school and are now college seniors. Either can explain why they continue the daily struggle to make their hair stick-straight at such a high cost in products, time and damage to their hair.

    On days that one of them sleeps in late, I might meet her for lunch and she always exclaims shamfully ';My hair is awful today! It鈥檚 terrible! I hate it.';

My question always is what is wrong with those lovely God-given face-framing curls, ringlets and waves in the first place. Why do girls/women with nice wavy hair flat-iron or straighten it like a religion?
I gave up ironing my hair years ago. It's just what the media likes these days. I love my hair and I stand out in the crowd. We tend to get brain washed into thinking we have to be like everyone else and a majority of people are not blessed with the curls and waves. Therefore, (and I was one of the blind followers for a long time) it makes sense that so many girls try to hide their beautiful locks in favor of blending in. Once they get self-esteem, they usually stop. I know I did and I'll never go back. Why do girls/women with nice wavy hair flat-iron or straighten it like a religion?
    Not all women/girls do so.

I agree with you--waves and curls are so pretty.

    I love my waves.

    Good luck
It's because we want what we do not have, if my hair is straight I want curly hair, if it is curly I want straight hair. Straight hair is really ';in'; right now as well.
I think sometimes people just get bored with seeing the same thing in the mirror every day, or maybe they find a style that they think makes them look good, so they just stick with it. Sometimes it's difficult to see yourself for how you naturally are and really appreciate it. Even I tend to think I look like a monster without a bit of makeup here and there, when in the past I thought makeup was pointless and never wore any. I think people just fall into a routine of doing things and stay that way.
they don't see what you see and in there opinion they think they are hidious unless they meet their self percieved idea of beauty
Well, I have wavy hair but sometimes I like having the sleek look of straight hair. I had pin straight hair my whole life then about 3 years ago my hair started getting wavy--I don't know why. Actually it's crazy wavy right now because it's humid. I like wavy sometimes because I don't have to do it to get ready to go somewhere--a little styling product, air dry and go. I like my hair both ways.
What a strange trend. I didn't even know that women did that until you

mentioned it. There are of course women with naturally straight hair that

use curling irons to make their hair wavy. Evidently, some women innately

prefer straight hair, and others innately prefer wavy hair.

Wavy hair is characterized by the abstract property of fineness, such

that people with a temperament of fineness prefer it, and people with a

    temperament of crudeness detest it.

  • Chi straightener sucks, is t3 any good?

I have normal hair, not too course or too fine..its just a little dry and kinda wavy.

Some problems I have with the chi:

The ceramic is starting to wear off

Since I can't adjust the temperature it fries my hair

I get alot of split ends (and I dont straighten my hair everyday)

When I straighten little hairs stick out on the top of my head

I went to a Nordstrom event and a stylist used a t3 on my hair.

It made my hair shinier and softer but when she tried to curl it, it kept pulling on my hair and left kinks (like edges instead of round curls)

but im not sure if that was because she curled it weird (like how you would make ribbon with scissors) or if the straightener just doesnt work very well, because I use a chi to curl too and it works fine but it just gets too hot for my hair.

should i get the t3 and try it out for myself? what brand would you recommend?Chi straightener sucks, is t3 any good?
I also have a chi and i find that it works miracles.

If you're having trouble with it frying your hair then keep the straightener moving or just run it faster along your hair.

I would suggest getting some sort of product for the split ends or get your hair trimmed more often.

The little hairs that stick out of your head is frizz that probably happened when you were brushing your hair and broke the strand so try a different brush or brush more carefully.

And remember, the people who did your hair are hairstylists, or at least had extensive training using it, i have gotten straighteners after they did my hair and received mediorce results.

    Hope this helped!

    CURLING WITH A FLAT IRON?

Ok so a lot of the thin (like 1';) straighteners are also said to be used for curling your hair. I just purchased a ULTRA CHI 1'; %26amp; was wondering if anyone has tried to do it %26amp; how it works. its definetly good for flipping the bottom of your hair, ive tried that. how does the curling work? what do you do? also....anyone else have this flat iron? Its an ULTRA CHI 1';, red, %26amp; it came with a pouch to carry it in %26amp; a lil bottle of the silk infusion! that made me happy. lol. it was like $159.00

Thanks guys!CURLING WITH A FLAT IRON?
I have used my chi straigtener to curl my hair and it works and looks greatt!..i dont think its the ultra but it shouldnt make a difference. a lot of my friends think its hard to do it..but its actually really easy once you get the hang of it. all you have to do is clamp your hair as if you were straightening it and then use both of your hands to twist/rotate it around. it should create a good curl..if its too spiral for you, you can lightly straighten it and it should ease it down. you also want to do a larger chunk of hair because if you do a lot of little ones, it might look funny!! haha and once your done make sure you separate the curls so it looks natural! :) good luck!CURLING WITH A FLAT IRON?
Wow, this will be hard to explain but will try my best. Grab small sections of your hair. Start half way, place the hair in the flat iron, then begin twisting while working yourself down the ends. Walk into any beauty supply store that sells flat irons the sales rep should be able to show you how. That's what I did %26amp; now I curl my hair all the time with a flat iron (works much better than a curling iron). Looks great!

good luck :-)HELP!!! How do you .... ?
hair straightner is to STRAIGHTEN your hair and not o curl....
you put your hair in starting at the end as if you are straighting it but you have to close it down on your hair at the end and wrap your hair around the outside of the iron and then flip it
Place your straightners at the top of you hair (as you do to straighten it), but then pull it down slowly and twist the straightners around.

    all my best (:

I straighten with a CHI almost every day, i have naturally very curly hair and now, from straightening it, i am loosing that curl. i need help on how to gain the curl back, and protect it so that if i straighten it it wont do this again.. any help at all!!!!!!Need advice on hair , any pro or well informed person please help!?
I would say stop straightening it for a while, use mouse or gel everyday to scrunch your hair, giving it assistance in curling back up. I would stop using straighteners, they are bad for your hair anyways. Use conditioner everyday, and maybe try leave in conditioner...Need advice on hair , any pro or well informed person please help!?
Do you use a heat protectant? I also recommend a good shampoo that moisturizes you hair. I too have curly hair and always use both.

How to straighten hair REAL straight?

whenever i straighten my hair it doesn't get REALLY straight, nor does the whole thing stay straight for a while. what can i do?

DETAILS ABOUT MY HAIR BELOW (:

i have curly hair, spiral curls underneath with more waves on top.

each strand is fine, but i have a lot of hair and my haircut is fairlylayered. whenever i straighten it, it stays pretty straight for about, 5 minutes, then the ends start flipping up. i usually spend 10-15 minutes straightening it, i don't wanna fry it, and i try to put hair spray in (not airsole? but like a spritzer.) i feel like it just gives my hair humidity to flip up more. it all stays straight except the ends flip everywhere so it looks feathered.

i have a good straightener, just got a new chi a about year ago.

HELP?How to straighten hair REAL straight?
Just straighten your hair in smaller sections, and take your time. That allows more heat to get to each section and it'll keep your hair that way longer. I wouldn't really suggest using hair spray though, especially not with a flat iron because of the alcohol content. That'll just fry your hair. Try a heat protecting serum or spray to put on your hair before you flat iron it, that should help a lot too. Good luck! How to straighten hair REAL straight?
You could try going to a stylist and getting it chemically straightened. Chemically straiting it is basically the anti-perm, so it gets super sleek and straight. This may be expensive, and if you do it too much it will harm your hair.

Next time, instead of using a straightener use a straightening creme (try KMS Flat Out Straightening Creme http://www.beautydeals.net/shop/details.鈥?/a>

as well as the anti-humidity spray)
my hair is the same way. i just go and get a perm that'll straighten my hair...of course you still have to straighten your hair after everytime you wash it, but your hair will become really straight...i like perms because they keep my bangs straight even after i wash my hair so i dont have to straighten them. hope i helped.
Blow dry until it's completely dry, apply a hair serum, straighten in very small sections at a time and go through it slowly, then repeat about 2+ more times.
when you straighten, bend the straightener DOWN, not straight, so it will be straight straight.
10-15 minutes?! you expect for it to be straight after straightening for that long? I only have wavy hair, and it's not too long, and it takes me more htan 30 minutes to get it stick straight. Your hair flips out because you don't use the right tools or products. Your flat iron makes the biggest difference. Each straightener is different, and yes, sometimes it is worth it to buy the more expensive one. I had a Conair one that pretty much sucked to the point where I spent an hour straightening my hair, and people actually asked me if i straightened it because they could not tell. THen, I bought the Sedu at Ulta for $140, and I've been using it for 2 years, ever since I bought it. It straightens my hair and my hair rarely ever flips out.

Also, you might not be using the right tecniques. You should be straightening your hair layer by layer. Clip the top layers at the top of your head, and then straighten the bottom layers slowly. If it flips in or out, bend the flat iron the opposite direction. As you do each layer, you keep letting down more layers until they are all finished.
DONT USE HAIRSPRAY!!!! i have hair just like that hair spray ruins it and pull up the top of ur hair and straighten the botom the let out another bit, straighten that, so on and so forth u should take a bit more time maybe 15- 20 mins (i use that much time but maybe because i hve thick hair idk i have RLY thick hair) another VRY important thing is dont wash ur hair and straighten it right away cus wen its clean it has attendancy (sp) to go bac to its original form(also wit curling) also blow drying helps wit not frying ur hair if u blow dry ur hair with a round brush made of a metal core ($5 walmart) and blow dry ur hair wit that it does have the straghtening for u, because the metal heats up like a straghtener and it wont look good at all int he begining but it will b SUPER easy to straighten after. So i sugest u wash ur hair before bed, blow dry it, then straighten it in the morning. (at least thats wati do)

    any help is appreciated!

I finally got (clip in/human hair) extensions, and i need some care help. if someone could answer these for me, that'd be great, each answer will get a thumbs up! :]

    1) What products do i need? Like shampoo/conditioner, thermal protection, etc. I have matrix color.smart shampoo and chi thermal protectant, will that work?

    2) how often will i have to wash them? I wash my own hair every two days. (My hair was damaged, and now it stays in the routine)

    3) what kind of brushes do i need?

    4) !!!!!(really important)!!!!! I curl/straighten my hair daily with my flat iron .. do i have to stop curling (the curls are hard to straighten out; so i usually just wash my hair when i want it straight again) my hair now? because i really like it curled and straightened.

    5) how long will they last? i have graduation next month, around the 29th, and i really want long hair for grad. i don't really want to buy more extensions any time soon ..

thank you soso much for any help!10 points! Easy hair extension question! All answers will receive a thumbs up!?
you dont need to do anything with them, the hair is dead so it wont get greasy or dirty =] you can brush, curl or straighten whatever you want. they last as long as you want, but the ends might get a little bit frazzled so you might need to cut off the little end bits lol

have fun :D xx10 points! Easy hair extension question! All answers will receive a thumbs up!?
1 - use your normal products, because its human hair, any human hair shampoo's will work.

2 - wash every week or so, just to get rid of grease, etc.

    3 - just use a wide-toothed normal comb.

4 - no you can use styling products on human hair, its just synthetic hair which burns

5 - as long as you keep then in shape, they should last forever.
THIS ANSWERS BOTH NUMBER 3 AND NUMBER 4 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can curl / Straighten them and just straighten out the curls or just simply wash them out but mostly with exstentions if you brush them with a brush suited for AFRO/CARRABIEN hair then they will automaticaly straighten.

How to get my frizzy/damaged hair to look like this?

I like her hair there, and possibly with no heat. Because my hair's damaged enough. It's naturally wavy/frizzy/dry, and my hair sometimes gets flat at the top.

So what can I do to make it look like this. I have many products, but the only curling type products I have are:

-Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Mousse http://www.herbalessences.ca/en_CA/colle鈥?/a>

    -Tresemme curl gel http://www.tresemme.com/curl/products/bo鈥?/a>

    - Hair spray

    - Pommade

    Some other stuff I have:

    -Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum

    -Chi Silk infusion

    -Got2b silk drops

-The Body Shop Grapeseed glossing serum

    some other stuff..

Thanks :)How to get my frizzy/damaged hair to look like this?
um well im not sure about the beach wave part but I know that u should probably work on your hair to fix it . First there is a hair mask and a whole revitalizing line by pantene u could get it like anywhere . Next when u wash your hair and the water is on hot , always smooth it down because hot water makes the folicles open and pushing then up will damage your hair even more than it already is . Finnaly finish your hair wash by washing it with cold water to seal the open folicle it makes it smooth and shiny. Then when your hair is 70% dry put the shining-frizz serum . Also u should lay off the products and stick to one brand that suits youHow to get my frizzy/damaged hair to look like this?
    Always condition your hair(:

How can i straighten my hair well with a bad straightener??

ok ive been useing my sisters CHI straighteners wich are really good and never leaves 1 curl i my hair , but shes goin back 2 uni next week so i have 2 use my old vicky clarke straighteners , the problem is they are broken , the heat plate things are ment to be black but for some reason , the coating has chipped away so it barely straightens , how could i get it to work well, ive tryed putting it on hi heat and straightening slower but that wont work , any other ideas ?

and i cant buy a new straightener so plz dont suggest that thanks How can i straighten my hair well with a bad straightener??
You could while blowdrying your hair get a comb and comb through your hair while drying. This makes the style stay and will be much easier and less work to straightne it as it will be almost str8 anyway :)

xHow can i straighten my hair well with a bad straightener??
    leave it curly :P
    blow dry your hair.

and when your doing it, brush along as you're drying it.

    then straighten.

    good luck =]
Then I would suggest finding another style that doesn't require a straightener. The heating element is shot in your old straightener, and needs to be filed in the trash can.
First of all you can buy straightening sort of sprays, but also you should try blow drying it straight first and then with the straighteners straighten really small strands at a time rather than big chunks!
blow dry it straight rather than using broken straighteners. I would advise you to chuck your straighteners, my friend had a broken one and it just blew up into sparks. Lucky for her she wasn't holding it or putting it near her hair! shocked her though!
I know this might sound crazy but if your hair is long enough you can straighten with an iron... lol believe me it works or you can part your hair into smaller sections start with the bottom first the work your way to the top. and have your hair dry.. so it decreses the friiz!! good luck!
I'm afraid that's a tough one you have there! =] I know hairdressers always grab the hair and straighten hard. My hairdresser also told me to clean straightners you can use nail remover polish. But i really don't know what to suggest...it sounds like you need new one;s! Sorry if that's not much help to you...Good luck anyway lol =] x.x
After you wash your hair brush it. Then put straightening serum on. Blow dry your hair straight. Then slowly v slowly straighten your hair going over it a couple of times making sure not to miss any out.

Yes, the straightener works very good.

    I recommend it hun.

at the mall i tried the straightner for curls and straight. it will stay straight/curly a few days. i took a shower and was surprised the spots i tried it out on stayed.
the chi is the best flat iron out there for curling your hair as well as making it straight.

    so yeah, its true.

Best/cheapest 1 to 1-1/2 inch flat iron for loose curls?

I've seen the pink Chi flat iron with curved edges used to make gorgeous curls.

But my straightener now is a two inch and straightens perfectly so I don't really want to invest in another expensive straightener.

So, to those of you who curl your hair with a flat iron, which one do you use and how do you like the results?Best/cheapest 1 to 1-1/2 inch flat iron for loose curls?
Paul Mitchell has the best flat irons in the world. That is all i use product wis and i have never been happier with my hair. They just came out with a new flat iron the Express Ion Smooth. It has a silicone strip on one side that shines your hair as you smooth it or curl it. It also never grabs. You know how sometimes your flat iron stops and makes a crimp? This one doesn't get caught up. Try it you will love it. It is an investment but it has a lifetime warrenty. Meaning if it for any reason breaks send it in the box it came in to the address that is in the box and they send yours or a new one back to you.

What to do with extremely curly hair?

I have really big curly hair and I love it. I just need a change. I have managed to define the curl and tone the frizz down to where it looks good but I have no idea how to fix it up. I am tired of having it just hang there. It's a pain in the you know where to straighten it even with a CHI and I'm bored with the style. I don't want to cut it, I just want a way to play around with it. Any help? What to do with extremely curly hair?
my way is exactly what u want

Shampoo and condition your hair. Towel dry. Apply a mousse or other styling product lightly to your damp hair to give it some texture.. While your hair is still damp, bend your head over so you're drying your hair upside down. Dry your hair with the blow dryer while using your hands to scrunch it. Once your hair is dry, throw your head back and immediately spray with silvikrin Flexible Hairspray .What to do with extremely curly hair?
Go to a hair stylist and ask them. Most people I know with curls get layers then get their hair thinned a little. Using products also help

How to get thick, layerless hair without split ends?

So i dyed my hair dark and i can see split ends even though i got it cut about 5 weeks ago.

I already have VERY long (several inches below chest) but i want to grow out my layers and bangs without having to cut it cuz of split ends (on my layers).

i sleep in curlers, sometimes ill curl it with an iron but i use chi heat protectant!

    Tips for conditioning? Shampooing? Treatment?

THANKS!How to get thick, layerless hair without split ends?
I am also prone to split ends because i straighten or curl my hair on a daily basis but i use Lee Stafford Products, his hair masks are excellent and the serum keeps hair under control. I also go through my own hair cutting out split ends, its actually quite addictive! Also I use his weather control shampoo and conditioner which i would highly recommend. Oh, and boars hair brushes are a lot better for hair than regular bushes and always comb your hair when its wet, preferably with a wide tooth comb as brushing wet hair can really damage itHow to get thick, layerless hair without split ends?
Anyone who uses hair instruments that heat your hair(regardless of an expensive non-damaging product) you will begin to get split ends. I use a straightener almost everyday(as well as product) and I get them. You just have to trim your hair anywhere you see split ends. Although you are trying to grow out your layers, you have to trim them. The healthier your hair is, the faster it will grow! I don't suggest going to the salon everytime you need a trim because it's simple enough to do on you own, maybe have someone you trust snip the back a little if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself. Plus, I always cut my own hair, that way you don't have to worry about yelling at the hair artist that she's cutting to short! haha. With conditioning, I believe it works better when it's cold. So maybe leave you conditioner in the fridge for about 5 minutes before you shower. When you shampoo, you might want to buy healthy hair Pantene products because those and obviously made to specifically fight against breakage and split ends. I hope I helped!
IT doesn't matter how well you care for your hair. There will ALWAYS be split ends, because almost everything damages your hair to an extent.

Get your hair trimmed on a regular basis, and just let it grow naturally as much as it can.

Also, with thick hair (or any hair), not having layers can easily weigh the hair down and cause it to have a ';triangle'; effect. So, I advise keeping the layers so the hair does not get weighed down.

And just because you use a thermal protectant doesn't mean your hair is 100% protected, and the CHI product may not even be working well for you. Not all products work properly for everyone.
you need to cut your split ends or they'll crawl up and split more. you should use a deep conditioner from time to time, and before you use heat on your hair you should use a spray on conditioner.. I suggest Shuga -Leave in Conditioner. Your hair will feel much healthier.

What does the CHI keratin mist do? How do i use it?

    Do i use it before i flat iron and curl my hair like a heat protectent? I already have the 44 Iron guard, so do i use this when my hairs wet? or dry? I have super curly thick hair, looking to grow it really long and healthy, on the brink of recovery from years of chemicals and bleaching, ironing, tons of heat! Will this help it grow healthier, in turn making it grow faster? I read the bottle and all it says is ';leave in strengthing treatment: Directions: spray through hair evenly. Proceed with styling.';

I have TWO huge bottles (12oz) i bought them at TJ maxx. Only 6.00.

So what do i do with them.???

Thanksss!!!!!What does the CHI keratin mist do? How do i use it?
Chi Keratin Mist will make your hair really strong and healthy. This will help your hair grow stronger, but not any faster than usual. It also adds shine and smoothness.

You should still use the 44 Iron Guard as a heat protection spray if you use heat styling tools. That way, your hair won't become damaged.

You spray the Keratin Mist on damp hair, and then blow dry and straighten your hair :)

And once your hair is dry, use the Chi 44 Iron Guard before flat ironing.

    :] I hope I helped!

How do i keep my hair and bangs straight?

I have really curly frizzy hair and i like to straighten it occasionally but it gets thick and poofy again with florida humidity.. even with a chi... i dont know what to do.. i also can't have any bans because no mater what they stick out when i straighten them or they have to look like cheesy bangs that curl inward and they always curl at the end of the day.

how can i just keep it straight? help wanted :]How do i keep my hair and bangs straight?
get a better straightner........use an anti-frizz serum on your hair alsoHow do i keep my hair and bangs straight?
    grow them out
its your hair you tell us
have you thought about getting it chemically straightened? it might cost a lot, but it works really well.

also, my bangs are to the sides of my face, and they curl at the end of the day. as long as you don't go anywhere i don't see a problem with it, but to keep it straight i use Hairapy in Sleek%26amp;Straight, and that keeps them tamed during school hours.
Buy a straightener and use Garner Fruits slick and shine solution works for me it might just work for you.
use hair spray, gel, or straghtion your hair
those big plastic rollers, if you don't sleep on your face like i do

or pin them back when you're sleep
Talk to your Hair it will know
    use a straighting iron
well it really depends on the kind of hair straighner you have. and i think you can like go and get your hair like perm straitened like a curlly perm but strait
Use straighteners, or a good hair gel
put moose in your hair when its wet then when its dry u straighten it and it will hold it better
get this straightening stuff made by Chi, it works wonders, i swear by it.

its only like 10 bucks and well worth it. you can find it in salons everywhere.
I work Chi Silk Infusion into my hair. Then I spray each section with Chi 44 Iron Guard before straightening. You can also use Chi Shine Spray to maintain straight style and add shine to your hair when youre finished straightening. Chi products are expensive. As long as you spray each section with some form of flat iron spray before you iron, it will help. The spray adds moisture to your hair that the flat iron takes out. Spray with some kind of shine spray or a hairspray designed for straight styles and it will help lots. Good luck!
I have the same problem too usually, to keep your bangs from sticking out, hold them down and hairspray them lots, then after half hour or so , crunch out all the hairspray, and your hair should stay in place, as for fighting the curl, I would reccomend herbal essences Dangerously Straight hairspray, it works really well for keeping it nice and straight, and if that doesnt work it might just be your hair. Good luck!
try spraying spray starch on your hair before you straighten it or there is a product called biosilk you put on before as well

    Iso vs. Chi flatiron?

Is there really a difference? Which one is better? I was watching videos on youtube about how to curl your hair with a flatiron and the Iso said that it lasts for days without using any product.. is this true?

    Thanks!Iso vs. Chi flatiron?
There's really not a difference, but CHI might actually be cheaper. Those curls won't last for days. Actually, they might but they would be screwed up, weird and nasty.Iso vs. Chi flatiron?
    hey,

i have heard that the iso does actually last for days, but my i have personal experience with the chi and it works great.
CHI works way better than any other straightner. I have like three straightners and the Chi is the best.
personally, i LOVE chi. the one i have takes less than 20 seconds to heat up which is great when i have to do my hair fast. It depends on what your hair is like, it could go for days but i HIGHLY doubt it. It doesn't really matter which flatiron you get, but just don't get a cheap one because i got a cheap one thinking they were all the same and it was TERRIBLE it took like 5 minutes to heat up! so if you have the money, go for chi i PROMISE its worth the money!

I have choppy layers as well and style my hair the same way, and I have the same problem

because I live in florida where it's always humid =/ but anyways, I use ';frizz-ease heat defeat'; before straightening my hair. Then, after my hair is straight. I spray in a little bit of hair spray (not too much, or else it will stick together and look funny'; Then, proceed to tease your hair. Make sure you spray more hairspray to make it stay. To give it a shinier look I spray a little bit of a product called ';smooth shine polishing'; I got my hair products from either wal-mart or target I don't remember which one. But both products work really well in humidity and hottness. Sometimes, if I'm too lazy to straighten my hair I just scrunch it after a shower by adding gel while my hair is still wet and letting it air dry. Then I spray a bit of hairspray in it. This is healthier for your hair and looks more natural. It also makes it so that you can wear your hair curly and it wont frizz.HELP MY HAIR IS HORRIBLE!?

HELP! I'm looking for a new Hair straightener!!!!!?

    HI!

Right now I own a pretty cheap hair straightener (the brand is called 'style elements') and would like to upgrade to a better one. From what I've seen on youtube, watching 'how to' videos, the brands CHI, FHI, HAI, BIOSILK, and CRICKET are the top brands. The straightener I have now only has 2 settings, also (on and off, haha) so I would like a straightener with heat settings and such. I would also like to be able to curl my hair with it because that looks very pretty. But I keep trying with my straightener I have now and it never works.

So if you have any suggestions then , I would appreciate it.

THankssss!HELP! I'm looking for a new Hair straightener!!!!!?
I have remington, and it works for me... try it.. i get my curly hair straightened for about 15 minutes to perfection :)

    And tips :

Always use that thing that helps your hair with big heat... my friend almost burned her hair without it :)HELP! I'm looking for a new Hair straightener!!!!!?
buy GHD's they work wonders for me but they do cost quite a bit.
I am using vital sasoon ceramic. I have frizzy and wavy hair it works wonders plus for the price you can't beat it. Another friend of mine has the same one and she also loves it. I think it was $16 when I bought it a year ago.
Get BaByliss, its great. but if you have really curly hair get a GHD.

but in my views i tried both and the BaByliss is just great.
    Buy a GHD. They're amazing
GHD's are the best in the world they are about 拢100 but i have thick frizzy hair and they work fab they can curl 2, there is loads of different types they do check it out

How should i curly my naturally curly hair with an iron?

well i'll be using a chi.

i know how to curl it when its already straight, but

should i straighten it firth %26amp; then curl? or what? lol

:) thanks guys! How should i curly my naturally curly hair with an iron?
maybe you could blowdry ur hair straight first, then curl it, the curls will turn out better that way, i tend to do that usually. How should i curly my naturally curly hair with an iron?
Pull down on the ends of it so its virtually straight, then clasp the bottom with the iron and curl it up towards the top of your head. While its at the top, you shuold spray it with hairspray to keep friz down and keep the curls intact for hours.

    CHI vs. Solia?

I've always wanted a CHI Iron but while doing research I found the Solia. My question is (if used both irons or completely satisfied with one) which one is a better buy? My friends have the CHI so from experience I know how it works. The handle gets hot, straightens nicely, curls beautifully, hair looks healthier, slim model...etc. I would like to know if the Solia is bulky or heavy? Curls nicely? Long lasting? Basically any review you have to share I will take into consideration! Thank you, VeroCHI vs. Solia?
I've had my CHI straightener for 2 years and I still LOVE it. I wouldn't change it for anything. It's a classic! I don't think anything could replace the softness and straightness that the chi gives my hair!! (lol that sounded like a commercial but its true!)CHI vs. Solia?
I read the Chi breaks very often and the Solia, Sedu, Hai are better from the reviews I have read. Also the Chi doesn't have a temperature dial to adjust the heat which is very important to me I like to be able to adjust the heat for my hair type. But many people like the Chi and think it is the best I would say get what you like or think is the best you may like it you never know until you try it. I don't know much about either one I have a Conair Infiniti it is cheaper but works really well for me and I only use the 100% solid ceramic plates not the gold plated ones. I have done lots of reviews and have tried many flat irons even from salons and still like the Conair but Babyliss are good too.
i've had the chi for about a year now and i absolutely love it. i used it once and sometimes even twice a day. the only problem is that after a year it began to not work as well but i did have a one year warantee and they will replace or fix whatever isnt working properly. the chi makes your hair so smooth and silky and heats up so fast.
if you go on the website folica.com they have some great reviews. I have done some research too and have decided to buy the pink solia over the CHI. I have heard that the CHI breaks easily and it doesn't have temperature control.

Using the flat iron has obviously changed my naturally curly hair to straight. Can I get it curly again?

My hair used to be thick and curly. I would have to relax it with chemicals but ever since i started using the chi flat iron it drys straight and I can't wear it curl. How do I get back my thick curly natural hair?Using the flat iron has obviously changed my naturally curly hair to straight. Can I get it curly again?
that started happening to me too after i flat ironed my hair straight for almost two years straight.

what i did was i started putting hair get in my hair (not alot) and then just scrunching it up with my hair to boost the nartualness of the curls. it worked pretty well and now my hair curls again on its own. (although i still like to scrunch)

    hope that helps.

:}Using the flat iron has obviously changed my naturally curly hair to straight. Can I get it curly again?
Stop using it for a while and use curl shampoo and a curling iron and dont relax it with chemicals it dries out ur hair, and try a shampoo for damaged hair (because of chemicals)
Have you changed shampoos/conditioners? Mine is usually frizzy and poofy, but since using a different shampoo, its been drying beautifully straight. It has nothing to do with my flat iron.

I find it very hard to believe a flat iron could permanently change hair texture (but if it really did, you are one lucky gal!).

If its not your shampoo or conditioner, go to a salon and see what they can do to get your curls back.
my hair did the same thing! something i realized worked for me was garnier fructis curl construct mousse. while your hair is damp your can scrunch it with some of this and it really works for my hair. it makes it really curly. if you do this for a while, it usually starts to get some body and curl back. also, try not straightening it so often. you could wear your hair in a cute pony tail or something some days. and if the mousse works, then wear it curly some days. you can get this product at walmart. also, if you want to try another mousse, im sure it would work also.
There are video out there show you how to do that:

What do I do with thick wavy blonde hair?

I'm looking for some advice on what to do with my hair! Here's what I'm dealing with:

    -THICK blonde hair.

-It's a pretty good color naturally and it has a nice texture.

-Naturally, it's wavy. But it realllly doesn't look good wavy, especially in pictures.

-I have side bangs, so those need to work with whatever I'm doing. I could really use some help figuring out what to do with those, because they are not attractive!

-I have some hair that sticks out in an awkwardly frizzy way on the side... Any way to tame that?

    -Moderately long

-Just got it cut, so a new cut isn鈥檛 an option

-I sometimes straighten it, but it doesn鈥檛 always straighten well. If I DO straighten it, I鈥檒l need some advice on how to do so. What straighteners are good (besides a Chi鈥?too expensive!)? What products should I use? I need a FAST, EASY way to straighten my hair.

-Curling my hair looks terrible. What do I do with thick wavy blonde hair?
Try putting your bangs up above your head.

Or try putting it into a ponytail or a messy bun. And straightening your bangs. It will help and it can look super cute. Do you have a picture or something? I mean without looking at you that’s the best advice I can give. You could look at magazines or search google for some different hairstyles for your face shape. -that’s what I do(:

hope I helpedd! What do I do with thick wavy blonde hair?
you should let me play with it.

    :D

no but seriously, hair in its natural state is the sexiest, especially when its curly/ wavy.

straighten the bangs if you must, but other than that, let it do its thing.

    you may think it looks bad, because most every stereotypical ';girl';

wears it the same way, and veering from that is dramatic and risque, but give it a couple days and see what you and others think of it.

    :)

it doesn't have temperature control on it and it gets like 350 degrees and i'm trying to curl my hair with it which i dont believe is safe. how do i curl my hair with it without the lines from the flat iron. can you give me steps. i looked on you tube but they make it look so easy and without the lines. please help.I have a 1'; chi flat iron i paid 120.00 for it and?
lesson learned. always get temperature control.I have a 1'; chi flat iron i paid 120.00 for it and?
Just keep the iron moving. When you clamp it and hold it in place, it causes the lines or creases. Chi irons do get extremely hot, so you need to keep it moving or it can cause damage. Also, make sure you use a good thermal protectant spray. If your hair is thicker, Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum is excellent.

Am i doing something wrong with my straightener?

i bought the chi hair straightener a few weeks ago and started using it whenever i went out. for some reason, after a few classes at school, my hair goes back to its normal curl-at-the-end messy style (although not as bad without straightening my hair. looks better with). how can i keep it straight like other girls wear it? do i need some kind of product or something? or is it just my hair? (usually it happens worse when its windy).

Help?Am i doing something wrong with my straightener?
-Tresemme Heat Tamer to protect your hair from the heat of your straigtener

-Either hairspray or gel will work.

If you have frizzy hair, use an anti-frizz serum (I like Garnier Fructis antifrizz)

Also, if wouldn't hurt to buy a shampoo system (shampoo and conditioner) designed to help straighten hair. Garnier has a line for this.Am i doing something wrong with my straightener?
i would serch CHI tutorial on youtube
after u straighten it blow dry with cold air
You're not doing anything wrong. Just buy some sort of good hair products for your hair. Try the thermal protection by tre semme. Herbal Essence works as well. =]
it is probably just ur hair. a bunch of girls hair gets like that..

but it could also be the weather..if it is very rainy and humid weather that could def cause that..
I have the same problem! You're not using the straightener incorrectly, you just have curly hair. You might want to try some straightening gel after you get out of the shower. I don't know if you blow dry your hair out after showers, but that is another good idea. If that still doesn't work, take a little extra time to straighten it. Also, some straighteners will work better for you than others. I used to have a Chi and it hardly worked, so I bought a Conair at Wal-Mart. It works so much better! Those are just a few things that might help.
i always straighten my hair. i reccommend putting on before straightening either sebastian trilliant shimmer complex or biolage heat serum. they are amazing, they keep the frizz down, keep hair staight , help not cause damage and make my hair really smooth. also you should check the tempurature at which the temp of the straightener is at. 360 to 400 degrees straightens it best.
hmm..not sure, it could just be the way your straightening your hair, or your hair isn't use to having so much heat...try using a syrum or a heat protectant spray.
That happened to me before. I now use pomade. Put it on before you straighten. Makes it straight and gives the ends a more jagged, hard-core edge. :) Or you could just try a hair straightening shampoo.

    Chi or sedu flat iron?

ive heard alot of people say get the chi, but ive read reviews and many say that it doesnt last long..maybe a year or two..if anyone has had the sedu how long did yours last? on folica.com it says sedu is the #1 rated flat iron, however i havent heard many people say get the sedu. oh and this doesnt have to do with the chi or sedu, but what size flat iron did you get? because i have quite long hair to about the middle of my back, i was thinking of getting a 2 in but im not sure because many say 1 in is better to work with, i also want to use the flat iron to curl my hair and i dont know if the 2 in will really work for that purpose.Chi or sedu flat iron?
    Definitely get a Sedu!

    The customer reviews speaks volumes!

    http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Ionic_Cera_r1鈥?/a>Chi or sedu flat iron?
get a chi. even if it lasts only a year it has a one year warrenty! so if it breaks then tell them and get a new one! plus chi has ceramic all the way through the plates. Most are just covered in ceramic which disintigrates easily and burns your hair. Chi all the way! Plus get the Chi turbo +44 guard to prevent your hair from frying! Good luck!

OH plus get the 2';. Faster to iron your hair with :)
I spent quite a bit of money on my chi and it ended up not getting nearly as hot as it used to after about a year. i would advise you to try something else. i haven't heard of the sedu, but look around a bit more. consumer reports is always a great resource and you can usually go your local library and easily find the issue with the products you want with the help of the librarian. good luck!
get the CHI. I like it so much more!!

    Extremely curly hair?

    Hello all:

I have shoulder length frizzy, curly hair. These are the products I use:

    Shampoo - Redken smooth down

    Conditioner - Redken Smooth down

Products: Bed-head frizz stuff, john freida extra strength serum, redken heat glide, paul mitchell super skinny serum, pureology straightening stuff, and chi +44 heat glide.

even with a chi straightener, it still takes me half an hour to straighten my hair, and it still looks really bad!

within half an hour after THAT, my hair curls back.

    any advise?

and how do i stop my hair from curling back?Extremely curly hair?

i have the same kind of hair

    i have a chi.

don't use all that bed head stuff.

and then you spray the Suga on.

    and straighten.

thats what i do. and it comes out perfect

    straight;soft and etc.

and yes it will still take you half an hour. :]Extremely curly hair?
i like to use mouse and gel they have one that has a mix of gel and a cream which i say in a magazine to use for very curly hair
My hair's like that. Don't use the same shampoo and conditioner over and over. Try switching up. I usually use an antifrizz cream and a leave in conditioner. Then I put some mouse and gel and a smoothing cream. Then I straighten it. I hope that helps some.

I have a problem with my hair....?

ok.. so i wanna straighten it right? so in the morning i get up and straighten it.. but the problem is that i have to walk about .75 of a mile (10-20 min... depends on how fast im walking) to school in the morning and due to the humidity, my hair curls up again! what can i do? i REALLY dont wanna use hairspray and my mom wont buy me a chi straightener.. (i currently use a ceramic plated one that was about $30) and i dont wanna burn my hair that much...I have a problem with my hair....?
Rock your natural hair in a cute way. Why does it have to be ';straight';?

;)I have a problem with my hair....?
a nice straightener like a chi or sedu with hairspray should get rid of that problem. thats all i can think of. save money to get one.
okay.....i kno im a guy and all but i work with hair. you definitly need to buy a chi! MY SIS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM BUT SHE BOUGHT A CHI AND IT WORKED OUT FINE!
Buy a frizz/humitidy resistant hair gel. I also have cirly hair. It's 99cents @ wallgreens.
The only way to keep your hair dead straight is by using professional salon products and GHD straighteners, the cheap ones will make it look ok to begin with but over an hr or 2 later it will start gettin frizzy/wavy....save ur money to buy GHD's and you will be impressed.....they are the only straighteners that make my over curly hair straight. My hair dresser told me that GHD's also have a conditioning balm in the plates which makes your hair really smooth and shiny whilst very straight.
If u have African american hair, I suggest that u go to local beautician and ask for a hard press. Then if your beautician is experienced she/he should shampoo, deep cond., blow-dry,press,flatiron,clip splitends if needed, bump hair@ your request. And in humid weather, I suggest that u keep your hair dry wrapped until you get to school and comb out with a claw comb in a downward/circular motion. Assuming that u wrap your hair @ night anyway. Then u won't have to put heat on it every morning to straighten it. I also suggest that u use a hotter iron. Some peoples hair require more heat then others.
Well, I agree about the hair spray. I use V05 %26amp;%26amp; it gives my hair good volume. but sometimes if I go out %26amp;%26amp; its windy it makes my hair greasy. I try to stay away from hair spray too. Well with your problem I'd try to find a ride with air conditioning to school.

It'll fix your make up from coming off your face on your way to school due to perspiration. I wouldn't worry about ruining your hair with a straightener either thats usually the case with people who die their hair a lot %26amp;%26amp; straighten it. If i was you I'd go to Sally's and by a straightener with black plates (preferably an ion). thats best for your hair.

-If you want straight hair, you have to put time, money %26amp;%26amp; effort into it. There aren't any remedies or such that will do it.

-You need to buy a good black plated straightener, wash it with moisture conditioner %26amp;%26amp; shampoo,

use a leave on conditioner too to keep it moist, use a smoothing gel on your hair before you straighten it, %26amp;%26amp; get a ride to school.

ok. i want a new makeup look. i want simple. nothing dramatic. i am 16. normally i wear brown topaz eyliner top and bottom and then brownish black mascara and then bare minerals foundation powder and sometimes the bronzer. i want it to not cover my features but enhance them. and i am kinda short so if i go out with nothing less than eyliner i am mistaken for someone who is younger. please help. oh and i have blue eyes that sometimes look greenish and light brownish blonde hair. thanks :)

i also want just simple nice hair do's to do please i am tired of buns and straight hair. (oh yeah my hair comes half way down my chest.) i think that is it...yepAny advice is needed (makeup and hair)?
try black eyeliner it brings out the eyes better and makes you look mature. try eyeshadow it brings them out too. maybe you don't need to curl your hair. you can make it wavy with a crimper or braids when you sleep. put half of your hair in a pony. get layered haircuts...whatever new hairstyle that will suit your face shape. if you have an oval face go for anything. if you have another face shape get some style of bangs and/ or part your hair on the side.Any advice is needed (makeup and hair)?
Hi, even though I am still very young, my birthdate is the real one. But I am 10 years old. I don't put makeup on myself but I put in on others. It really depends on your personality. I am kind of like a tomboy because I do some hard rough-housing. I have the ';Avril Lavigne'; look. I usually put on just black eyeliner and some powder on, then some blush, but very scarce though. If you want the glam look just add some powder on, light pink eyeshadow, blush, and some white eyeliner to make you look alert and awake. But since you want the simple look I can tell you the best look is just to top it off with some powder, black eyeliner, and blush. Don't put too much blush on, it ruins the glow. If you like the natural look just put on some powder( I recommend SHISHIELDO), some brown topaz eyeliner, light brown eyeshadow, and some lip gloss( I recommend SMACKERS.)

Okay so if you want a good hair do without the price just let the job to me. I recommend you buy a curling iron from your local department store like WAL-MART, COSTCO, and TARGET. Charge your curling iron, while you are charging it. Practice wit your fingers and try how to make your simple look like you just went out to a red carpet party. I recommend you search up on Yahoo about ' beauty hair-dos'; Or you can just go to a salon nearby.

Seriously go with a Chi. A great place to get them is at Target. If you buy them online be very careful since people are always trying to sell fakes...

I have very curly have and I've been using my Chi on my hair for over a year now, and it's the best thing I've tried (believe me I've tried a lot of straighteners). It's the best damage wise, it doesn't damage your hair as much as other straighteners. And it takes so much less time with the Chi. I've heard the GHD is wonderful, but also you have to be careful about fake ones on the web.

    Good luck! :D
get the babyliss pro straightener. They are titanium instead of ceramic. They heat up quicker and straighten hair way faster and easier. My mom has an afro and she used this once and fell in love with it. We both had a chi and they are great but this is new and it blows it out of the water. Salon's carry them so maybe they can let you sample it! Highly recommended and about the same price as a chi, but look online they are about 60$ cheaper vs. the salon

okay so i have curly/wavy hair. i straighten it alot, i do use the chi 44 iron guard, but i feel like its making my hair split more. my hairs just a little wavy now and i dont like it, but i cant go natural because its so damaged. i have a straightener where its possible to have those pick things, but i can also put them away...whats better just flat like the chi, or with those pick things that kinda make it like a brush; haha you know.. also, how should i use my product...or what products should i use? also should i blowdry it at night? or should i wet my hair in the morning, then blow dry and straighten? or whats easier? also, the front/side part of my hair curls really easily...does hairspray help? im going to get it cut too, but i just need any advice possible, thanks=]Please help...my hair?!?
Alright, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take my advice. I've gone through the same thing.

I have curly hair, I used to straighten my hair all the time, and used the blow dryer.

My advice is to just stop using heating tools all together. It's the best for your hair, trust me.

Get a couple inches taken off, and start taking better care of your hair.

Theres not a problem with going natural. I love natural. And actually if you stop using heating tools your hair will get it's curl and wave back.

I've gone organic, I use only organic products on my hair. And let me tell you it pays off big time.

Find a good Sulfate-Free Shampoo. A good moisturizing conditioner. And the right styling products, nothing with alcohol or -cones in it (Cones are those big long words ending in -xane or -cone. It builds up on your hair and makes it fall out)

    Try looking at www.naturallycurly.com

Some organic products I recommend are

    Kinky-Curly

    Aubrey Organics

    Burt's Bee's

    I hope this helps!Please help...my hair?!?
Just cut it then let it grow back out healthy. Try to use heat protector sprays next time when you straighten your hair. You sound like those popular girls at my school. Their heads are riddled with split ends... it looks UGLY :0.
I have very thick and curly hair too. I use the nano silver Conair straightener and I love it, straightens my hair very good. I try to straighten my hair only on weekends when I want to look my best. Going from straightening my hair every day, to about 2-3 days of the week has made my hair A LOT healthier.

You should also use Garnier Fructis leave in conditioner. You can get it at Target, Walgreens, CVS for cheap. It's for frizzy/dry hair and it makes it look so much better and healthier. You just put it in after you straighten your hair. It seriously works wonders for me. This is what it looks like.

How to keep hair straight while ice skating?

Every Friday I go to a skating thing with a bunch of kids from my school. I always straighten my hair, but it always ends of curling at the bottoms or frizzing a little. My hair is naturally wavy/curly and i use a CHI. Before i go it it is pin straight. I use heat protective spray and hair spray it, but it never works! Any way i can keep it straight? Please no special shampoos or conditioners, things i can do quick. Thanks:)How to keep hair straight while ice skating?
You need serum to keep it straight. John Frieda Frizz ease works really well and will keep it from curling back up.

How can I have straight hair for 6 hours?

I want to find a way to keep my hair straight for 6 hours. I have semi curly hair and when I straight it with my chi 10 min later it starts to curl up!!!! I live in a very humid place anduse tons of hair spray HELP MEHow can I have straight hair for 6 hours?
I have VERY curly hair and I live on the MS Gulfcoast - at least 95% each day. Use Pantene Smooth Conditioner, then after that, twist with a towel. Apply Alterna Hemp Straightening Balm and leave it in, dry it using a brush, use a chi (the best) and then use Aveda Brilliant Emollient. My hair stays straight for at least two days, (unless it rains)How can I have straight hair for 6 hours?
You can get Pantene at any walmart or drug store but the other two can only be purchased at a salon. It's a little more expensive, but it last FOREVER and very much worth it.

    a falt iron!
you could go to the hair dressers and get it done correctly or maybe the flat hair iron isnt hot enough
OMG. I have the EXACT same problem! Okay, I use Bed Head Straightening Spray. It keeps your hair curl-free, and it smells good! :)
get shampoo and conditioner that has a straightning serum in it.

i reccommend herbal essences pin straight :)

    good luck!
Straighten small, one inch peices of hair at a time. It takes a while but works. Then rub a small bit of leave in conditioner (i use Garnier Fructis sleek and shine leave in conditioner.) Only use a little because too much will make it greasy. Then straighten the stuff into your hair. You'll probs hear a sizzling sound. This helps my hair stay straight (i have a chi too). Then add some hairspray. I usually run the straightener through my hair a bit more again so it doesnt look wet.
after you straighten try to put hair spray in it!
Well first off you need to look for shampoos and conditioners that say something like humidity resistant on the front. You could try Herbal Essences ';none of your frizziness'; line, or even better Garnier Frucits sleek and shine. instead of hairspray, use, istyle by sami, ';stop my frizzies';. it is supposed to lock in a style and controls frizz really well, it works better than hairspray without the stickiness and stiffness. finishing sprays like garnier fructis gloss finishing spray are good to put on after you've straightened your hair too. if you need to go to extreme measures use john frieda frizz ease line, they are supposed to control frizz, from humid weather conditions. i dont know how you live like that, id die, it takes me 45 min to an hour, to straighten my hair, if it started curling up ten min later, id surely move! jk jk!try some of these products they always work for me on rainy days when i have to go outside, and really humid days!

    signed hair expert.

    : )
Part of your problem might be all that hair spray. (It is rewetting the hair after you are done flat-ironing it.)

Try using a straightening shampoo and conditioner, a straightening balm or cream after towel drying, and then use a heat protectant right before you use your CHI.

I love the SexyHair straightening balm called ';Power Straight'; but it is hard to find, another good one is the Bed Head Control Freak system.

A good Anti-Frizz, thermal protectant spray is the Kenra Thermal Spray and/ or the Sebastian Laminates Thermal Shine Styler. The Laminates one will act as a hair spray when you are done, but the hair doesn't feel stiff or sticky.
